Satellite free update

This may be a stupid question, but before I install the new version of the FREE Satellite player should I uninstall the old version on my system...or is this an overwrite program/update program simillar to Adobe Audition that needs to find an older version on your system?

Hi there,

I don't think that's a "stupid question" at all, man. When you install Satellite, it simply over-rights the previous version that was installed. Satellite doesn't install all these dependent files and lengthy registry entries. It's probably one of the most "clean and simple" installations out there. Satellite never needs a prior version installed in order to update. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

I downloaded the "supposed" new Satellite this past weekend, however, after installing it I found out I was still working with my original version! I right-clicked the installation file and saw 1.0.2, not 1.0.2.2. How do I get the new version of Satellite? After double clicking on the app icon I was given only three choices, Modify, Repair, Remove, and I choose Modify. Thanks

Hi there, the installer version needs to be fixed. Sorry for the confusion. We'll take care of that. The place to find out the version you are running is by clicking the "Global Options" tab, followed by "Set Global Options". Now look to the lower right corner to find the version number. Tell me what you see.

I have V 1.0.21 running, so I guess I was routed to the older download for some reason. Please let me know when I can get the newer version.

The latest version is on the website, so if you simply request a download link from here: http://samplebase.com/satellite.htm you will get the right version. Try uninstalling the one currently on your machine first before installing the new one and see if that does the trick for you.

The key is uninstalling the old version, than installing the new download app. I have the newest version on my system now.

Interesting. Very sorry, the installer shouldn't behave that way. It should over-right the old version. Glad you got the newest version going. We'll need to have a look at the installer and see what's going on.
